"Carlyle" by Royal Doulton Pierced Earrings

These gorgeous vintage china pierced earrings have been created from a beautiful "Carlyle" bread plate by Royal Doulton which features a deep cobalt blue border with intricate turquoise & gold scrollwork, a central medallion & gold trim. The "Carlyle" pattern (H5018) was produced by Royal Doulton from 1972 to 2001 & it was made of fine bone china in England.
The design for these earrings was chosen from the dish, cut out carefully with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (black) grout is applied to the edges to seal & further protect the vintage china china pieces.
I have lovingly placed the porcelain pieces into lovely rectangular hammered antiqued silver over brass bezels that measure a little over 1.25" long (with loop) & 1/2" wide. With the ear wire hoops, they hang around 2" long. The earrings are hung with 925 sterling silver ear wire hoops.
