These beautiful & totally fabulous antiqued silver/sterling silver pierced earrings were created from a vintage Japanese porcelain coffee mug by Fuji Fine China.
Design Style: The mug features a traditional Kutani-style motif, characterized by intricate, multi-paneled designs of bluebirds, chrysanthemums & floral brocade. Era: These types of porcelain mugs were commonly produced in Japan during the 1970s & 1980s.
For these beautiful earrings, I captured some of the gorgeous floral brocade for you to enjoy!
The design for these earrings was chosen from the mug, cut out carefully with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is applied to the edges to seal & further protect the vintage china pieces.
I have lovingly placed the porcelain pieces into lovely rectangular hammered antiqued silver over brass bezels that measure a little over 1.25" long (with loop) & 1/2" wide. With the hoops, they hang around 2" long. The hanging hoops are 925 sterling silver.
*Each JBD piece comes with a 'Story Card' that tells a little about the Vintage China Pattern that was used in the piece purchased! :)
